🥇 x 2 Hackathon wins in a week!
Group 2 consisting of the SMC Student Emil Zawistowski, the SSD Jinpeng Zhang and the CS-Software BSc student Alberte Lohse won the Techathon - Sydhavnen 2025 today.
They addressed the challenge of 24/7 System for Recyclables, specfically “Design a system for around the clock drop-off and pickup that keeps items intact for appropriate waste sorting or rehoming.” Emil used a YOLO-based object detection system to identify recyclable items, Alberte developed a pathfinding system with a graphical UI, while Jinpeng provided the situational awareness with a 3D model of the recycling station. CUER collective congratulates the winners! Emil thus fulfilled the mini-project requirements of the MLME course and gained exam right.
A week ago, the cuer collective intern Martin Bivolov & team won the mini hackathon organized by the BEC Financial Technologies. Congratulations to them as well!
